Hi Alan,

Wonderful Set.

Do you have a date for the Set, the tracks are from 1936.

All the best.

Ian.

Hi Alan,

With the mounting holes for the tracks on the outside of the rails, the tracks are either 1935 or 1936.

The difference between them is 1935 tracks have a 1mm center rail and the 1936 tracks have a 2mm center rail.

Looking forward to more photo's of the Set.

All the best.

Ian.

Congratulations, it's a great set!

I almost bought it too, but I already have this one and your guesses are correct it was produced in 1936. The set from 1937 has a red box.

Lucky You <g>

Yes there is a village of Willingham in Cambridgeshire but I have never been there.

Very nice set. Handle the loco very carefully, the die-casting may be brittle.

The label on the loco is the lot number and it looks like a Brockmann one. I suspect that someone probably paid more than you paid. However if you check out his latest auction his estimates keep getting less. I went to Germany in the 90's specifically for one of his 2day events and at that time I was paying close to $200 for a 346 boxed passenger wagon. His estimate would now be about 40 Euros.

Sorry I had another look at the label and picked up the auction house. I think you got it for a reasonable price as its a rare piece in that condition. Sometime I wish I was interested in Hornby.
Well done. I spent some time in UK a few years back and good gear like this does not come up often. I thought the buildings lot went for a bit over the top.
