Has anyone considered buying the AC version of the Trix fine arts Prussian EG507?

It is an interesting, if ugly, beast, and would certainly make quite a talking point in anyone's collection or layout. I am facinated by it, but at a price tag of over €1000 euro it's a bit beyond my budget.

What do people think?

Nice thread Ray, indeed it is a quite expensive loco, at first sight absolutely out of my budget too, but buying nothing for some months could save the money to get it.
And, here is the question? Does it worth it???? Why so expensive??

BTW, it is a kind of nice beast.......

Small production run, mostly handmade. Trix Fine Art.
Test video here:

Not my era.

My most expensive loco so far is a Märklin Big Boy - and with €600 incl. VAT it's only about half the price of such a Fine Art loco.

A loco for € 1000+ would require a lot of meditation, a lot of savings - and a really big Must Have Factor.

If it was my era and if it was appealing to me, then I would have to think a long time whether I need it.
Regards
Tom

Hi Tom, i have seen that video, and of course the hand made job and details make it more expensive, but that expensive???????
It fits perfectly my collecting focus, but at that price.......since the basic moulds are there perhaps M* will release a normally detailed version in the future????
In the past i have made some efforts to get my Kaiser Wilhelm and Koenig Ludwig sets, but they were complete trains and not even came close to the price of that single little loco......
If i win the lottery perhaps i would go for it
