Nope, wrong again! Blushing

The loco is a Kiss Re 6/6.

Hi David,
I have to admit I had never heard of the Brand Kiss before you mentioned it, I checked them out online, pretty neat! They manufacture everything in China which bothers me a bit but I guess we have to get used to everything being made there... Anyway the video they have on their website is really cool and guess what: pretty much all you see in the video are Swiss Re 6/6! In red, green and Cargo liveries. Nice!
Thanks for the education on that.
Cheers,
Alain G.

Good morning everyone!
Happy Sunday, nice and sunny in NYC, little chilly though...
I'm very tempted by this gorgeous lady from the BLS line, anyone has her?
Cheers

Hi Ray,
How is life treating you on the rock?
This model is from Rivarossi, that is my problem collecting Swiss models after a while you have to look at other manufacturers...

Alain-I have a Rivarossi BLS Re 4/4 that I bought in Zurich a couple of years ago. My only issue with it was that the slider was noisy. I used parts from a Marklin 7164 slider to rebuild it an make it quiet. My Re 4/4 came with a metal body, an ESU LP, and warm white Led's...it is one of my favorite loks!

Hello Mark,
Did you get the green or brown one? Do you have pics of it?
I was very suspicious when order my first, and so far only, model from Rivarossi an Ae 3/5 from SBB. Honestly I was nicely surprised when I got it! Finely detailed, felt heavy, not the light plastic piece of junk I was kind of expected. Like you I catch myself really liking that model a lot!

By the way I just looked at your link, very nice layout you have and of course I love the TEE!!!

Cheers "neighbor",
Alain G.

Hello everyone,

Freezing greetings from NY...

I'm looking at buying the following black crocodile, but it is listed as a # 7356 and I'm really not sure about that number, anyone as an idea of what it is really?

Thank you in advance,

I think it is Marklin 37567, from the 2013 Nuremberg Toy fair. You can almost make out the box # on the bottom right. Locomotives should always have a number starting with a 3 (3xxx, 3xxxx), unless from a set, then it may start with 2 (2xxx, 2xxxx). Normally 7xxx denotes some kind of accessory.

Thank you Brandon,

Appreciate your comment, so far I stayed with models that did exist, but Joan kind of turn me on that black croc the other day, it does look sharp and would look good in my little croc farm...

Alain,

I don't think 37567 shows up in Marklin's product database. You can see some more details here:

http://www.ajckids.com/products/Marklin/37567

The link is to provide information, my intention was not to discuss dealers in this thread (although IMO this is a good one).

It's about the same here (I think 4F here this AM), a lot colder than it usually is in VA! We got 6 inches of snow, which isn't really that much, but school is closed for the kids all week!

Stay warm!

Good morning everyone,

Does anyone has information on the old Marklin RE800? I can see it going for all sorts of prices on EBay, from cheap to outrageous... How do we recognize a rare one from a not so rare one? What to look for etc...
Thank you and have a great weekend!
Cheers,

Alain,

I'm not sure about the specifics of RE800, but most of the models produced in the 50s seem to vary in price according to condition and presence/condition of the box. On Ebay I see a lot of these old models with very optimistic buy it now prices (often very high). It could be a mix of that and models hitting open auction. If you don't get any more response about this model, you may want to start another thread in collector's corner specifically about the RE800. There are a few members here who are very knowledgeable about this, but may have overlooked it here.

Alain, you don't have to search too far - there is something in this forum for you:

https://www.marklin-user...comotive.aspx#post329624

The RE 800 was Marklin's first variety of the Swiss Re 4/4 I, production began around 1951. It featured a very complicated drive mechanism, and due to this the model was first replaced by the RES 800 and later by the very popular RET 800.

Thank you Brandon,

Problem with the old models from the 50's is that you really need to know what you are talking about before jumping into it... Guss  I need a lot more education on this one!

Thanks for the reply
