I tried the wiring setup as defined in the CS2 help, but had no success with it.


I ended up wiring up the 5213 using the method described by Dale Schultz on his website, which works well.

Rather than butchering the 7286 controller to remove the bridge rectifier, I purchased a new one for a few dollars - I think the rectifier I got is rated at 400v / 2amps, which is fine for this purpose. Just keep in mind that the pins on the rectifier you get might be different to the one shown in Dale's picture, you need to adjust the wiring of the circuit accordingly, something I had to do. Otherwise, it all works well.

Thank you all for your replays.
They all gave me bits of information to use. Result:

PROBLEM SOLVED!

I kept on being stuborn to use the CS2's supposedly built in ability to control the TT with the k84.
As I mentioned, it did not work.
This is what I came up with:

Works perfect.
What I needed was the abilty to reverse polarity at relay 1 on the decoder.
For the power supply I used an old laptop transformer. (DC)
The polarity reversing is being done by using the second set of contacts of the same relay.
The power is fed directly to centre contact, and by crossing the outer relay contacts, when you comand the relay left or right, it switches polarity.
When activating the TT, if you press the GO, the TT will turn until you hit the STOP button. If you only want to advance 1 track only, you just hit the STOP buton one.
I hope somebody else will benefit from my experience.
(While conducting different trials, I managed to fry 2 transistors, 3 ICs, which added many hours of useless troubleshooting that I have created ).

Here's a picture of the decoder with the TT board attached to it:
Power supply is 15 VDC. Red wire is positive, Blue is Negative.
The power supply enters the decoder through the opening of the switch.
From left to right:
First set of wires are coming from the track.
Second set is from relay output 1. They flip the power. Centre is not used.
The last two are the ground needed to close the circuit.
The picture shows the complete set up. I only unplugged the ribbon cable to be easier to photograph.
I am using the CS's standard TT definition.

You could use the middle outlet of relay 1 to feed the Positive wire.
If you want to get really creative, I guess you could separate the copper trace just where I marked the X, solder an extra female plug, make an extra hole in the housing, and voila:everything would look 100%.
I might give it a shot. If I will I will post some pictures.
