BTW, I think you can buy the side frame parts from the 3078 and fit them to this model, which improves the look of the underframe no end.

That's a very nice set!

There's been a "Finanzpräsentation" model or set each year since 1995 (except for 1996 and 2009) to mark the presentation of the DB's accounts. In 2008, the model was for the DB's IPO Roadshow, so is an odd member of the series. There are 16 models so far.

These models are probably a minority interest amongst Märklin fans, but I have a complete collection of them from 1995 to 2012. They are always beautifully produced, with etched serial numbers on both model and box, and with an acrylic display base. The models are always of modern motive power, as it's for the modern DB, so there are no steam locos in the series. But there is an ICE3, and this year the model is of the BR 648.2 LINT 41 diesel railcar, but with special markings and the destination board shows "Sonderfahrt".

There's always a story behind these limited edition models!

Loco body and tender are plastic, It is same as hornby model.
