I am intrigued by this method of moving wagons to places the railway doesn't go. It seems to be a German way of doing it, everyone else seems to move the cargo from wagon to van to do the same thing.

Someone on the Bar and Grill posted a link to a youtube video of one of these transporters dropping a wagon back to a rail depot and cutting another wagon from the middle of a block of wagons and loading it on the trailer. I was most impressed with the minimal effort involved in the procedure.

I think it might have been a link from the video above that went to another video showing these Kaeble units being used in North Africa during WW2 to move a fuel taker wagon to an airfield that didn't have rail access available.

Has anyone tried to motorise a kaeble tractor unit using a Faller Car System mechanism? Would be a bit difficult to get it to back up to a loading ramp, but would be a crowd draw at an exhibition as a wagon gets unloaded/loaded.

I really like your "Real" train videos, Mehmet. I am a native New Yorker and in my home city there are a couple of examples of this from your last video.

In Brooklyn and in the Bronx there are subway stations that end with tunnels and the one in the Bronx has about 2/3s of the station in an open cut

and the remaining 1/3 in a tunnel. Above the tunnel is a street. Quite interesting. Cheers,Peter ThumpUp Smile
