I have a couple V200 Diesels on there way in the mail that I bought on eBay. Both are from the 1960s to 1970s, sorry I don't have dates yet. My question is concerning the motor, Did Marklin fit all of these engines with the LFCM or did they ever use SFCM? I am just curious as I need to order a couple magnets along with the decoders from ESU and was wondering which magnets I will need. I will probably end up waiting until I get the engines in the mail but I was just curious if a standard motor was used and for how long.

Best place to check for this info is Helmutt Kern's website:

http://www.hfkern.gmxhome.de/

Look under Marklin / Loks

Then select the loco type, i.e. in this case Dieselloks / Br220 V200

The years the loco was produced, and the motor type are listed. AFAIK the V200 never used the SFCM, but some later types used the DCM motor.

They never used a small falt armature.

Converting them you need a 60944 conversion set.

You can just use a Hamo magnet and a suitable decoder. See:
