Thanks Nev for having my Dad and I over to look at your layout and talk trains for a few hours on Saturday. It was good to meet you and hear about how you got your layout together and how you got into model railways.
Following on from that I built my table today for my first layout. Only a simple 2.4m x 1.2m one for my first try. It is hard to stay focussed and not let myself get side tracked with all the interesting goodies I could put in. *grin*

Do people really live down under there and visit each other? Amazing! Kidding, but it seems a world away from here.
Tonight my wife and I just watched an old movie name "Sundowners" which was filmed on location. It looked beautiful.
How is it that there seems to be a disproportionate number of Austrailians and New Zealanders who collect and run Marklin?

Larry, when we visit, as the distances are so vast, we do have to take a cut lunch and a compass. Sundowners , now that is an old movie. Because we are smart and know quality is better then price any day. But we are vastly outnumbered by the other side just as M lovers are in the US. probably in Germany and maybe the rest of Europeas well the shoe may be on the other foot Nev |

Hi Nev, It's great when you can spend time talking Marklin.  As for Saturday night, well it was 28 degree's, glorious sunshine, the family sat out on the decking with cold drinks,and we watched the sun go down at 22.15 hrs.  Ian.

Yes Ian - the long days are wonderful. I have just returned home to NZ from a holiday enjoying the northen hemisphere summer. In particular, I was out on the Western Isles in the second half of June, and enjoyed the long days. We spent most of the time based in a cottage on Grimsay. We travelled down to Barra and when we left, headed north to the Butt of Lewis. We were very fortunate with the weather. I recommend it to anyone wanting something different.  Regards Glen
