Hi Ron, I like the three bridges area. If you had a small station nearby you could name it "Dreibrücken".

I just joined the forum, I am Dutch, and live just south of Princeton NJ, so pretty close I would think. I have a question: I just bought the Trix Dammtor station, but somebody else started it and I have no instructions, DO YOU HAVE ANY? No matter what, what you are building is cool, I run mostly Trix Express, (3 rail DC, and just a few months older than Marklin (and now Marklin owns Trix)) Love to see your layout, and if you can help me out with my station, that would also be great, I am building a 24ft by 9 ft U shape.

Many Thanks,
Jacco Krist

Jacco,

I have picked up a Dammtor station and add-on recently, haven't started building it yet. I am in the closing stages of building a Lionel (ugh!!) layout for someone that I must get finished in the next two weeks. If no one can help you with the instructions, PM me with an email address and I'll see if I can scan the instructions and emal them to you. It will probably be no sooner than two weeks before I can get to it.

Robert

Jacco:

Did you ever get the Dammtor station done? I love mine. I have been ignoring my layout for a while, but yesterday I went down and ran some trains then did some catenary work. I am almost done the freight yard down the hill from my Dammtor station. I will post pictures soon!

As I stated in my new post on "The Next Generation", my Grandson is inspiring me to get back to the layout. I posted some pictures of his work there if anyone is interested. I have been building kits for the street in front of my Dammtor station but have not placed them on the layout in any cohesive order. That is my next task, other than fixing some electrical/control problems that have cropped up out of neglect and a few physical fixes.

I have just ordered another building for the street from Mike (EuroModelTrains) and will add that to the Dammtor area.

As a note of general interest, I spent a bit of time above describing my using Atlas HO track with n-guage rails "hot glued" to them as a way to save money in my new two level Schattenbahnhof in the Bietchtal area of the layout. That did not work out. The third rails keep coming unattached and jamming the sliders. I plan to start replacing those 10 tracks with real Marklin track in the near future. It is not worth the maintenance headaches. It will be a tight workspace, but it should be do-able.

Update on the track replacement project: I have finished the lower section of five tracks of the Schattenbahnhof. This was by far the hardest due to restricted space, especially the last track next to the wall:

Next I will get started on the upper five. I need to order some more 2205's for that (need 10) I exhausted my supply on the lower section.
