Hi Anders

The surface of the road has one color. You could add some darker spots and maybe tire tracks on the road. After all it is an agricultural environment and those tractors may may lose some of their load.

And about the barnyard, the same, maybe the remnants of a water puddle, some droppings (you have chickens) and the odd clump of grass. As you know, grass grows everywhere, except on the places where it shoud.
With kind regards

Goofy,

You realize of course running a farm needs employees, who pick up the eggs each day, clean the horses, clean the stalls, chop the wood, stack the hay, cook the food, make butter and bread, slaughter animals and walk around in their native costums.

just a few suggestions

Hm, the first tractor like machine dates back to 1859 (traction engine)
Nice picture of a 1882 tractor on the wikipedia page
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tractor?uselang=nl.

But horse and manpower can work fine (more droppings).

With kind regards

Tractors or traction engines were certainly not an everyday sight at farms in Goofy's era, but they certainly were around.

What would happen was that the day to day work was carried out as Goofy said, using manual labour and horses. However, when it came to harvesting one of two things could happen in the case of grain. One is that the grain would be cut and stacked in the fields before a contractor(a group of workers with a traction engine or locomobile, a thresher and other gear needed to perform the work) would come around to the field and paid by the farmer to thresh the grain(extract the actual grain from the stalk and other rubbish) for him.

The other option was to collect the grain and store it in a barn, where it was threshed at a convenient time. The thresher was often parked inside the barn for this, hence the reason barn doors are so big.

Cheers,
Rick

Very important information!!!

For two days ago a surveyor did visit my apartment to check.
So my apartment will become renovating later.
So this means too that i must move my layout so workers can fix my apartment.
But that will become too much work so i have to tear down my layout instead and build up a new one layout with Marklin instead.
This mean that my topic layout will therefore shut down permanent.
I will soon created an new layout topic.
Who knows...i perhaps will this time call it "Goofyville"... BigGrin

Hi Anders

How long will it take to renovate your apartment, and do you have to move out to another apartment, while the work is being done.

Ian.
