Panayotis, nice looking Americam locos!

Ian, that S3/6 looks great. For years the green livery with green wheels was my favourite. Somehow I ended up with a black one with red wheels...BigGrin

Hi,
The 3092 is a model of the engine as it was painted for the Royal Bavarian State Railroad (K.Bay.Sts.B.) prior to 1920.

About 10 of that same engine were acquired by France as reparations afte WWI. Marklin did that model as 3083 (ETAT colour scheme pre-1938), and 3317 (as SNCF colour scheme post 1938).

regards
Kimball

Hi Ian and all,

Thanks for showing this.

I really admire these Marklin era I models, they are simply fascinating.

My Marklin dealer says that here in Australia, era I is the second most popular after era III.

regards
Kimball

A new loco arrived today.... The SJ T21 diesel... A Heljan model...

This loco reminds me of my childhood, since it used to shunt wagons from the sugar factory together in a long train and then pull them away to another destination.

Since it is on sale for half the original price at MJ-hobby/Jeco, I just had to get one...

I used to watch a small steam loco looking silvery diesel (about the size of a KöF) owned by the sugar factory pull wagons (2-3 at the time) out from the factory area and onto a siding at the railway station. Then the T21 came along and shunted them into a very long siding that does not exist anymore. Then it collected the wagon train and pulled it though the station to another track to the left of the station, uncoupled, went by the rake of wagons and coupled in front and pulled away with the train on the exit track.

Pictures show the model of T21, the station (with factory gate to the left), the exit track (siding was to the left where there's only grass now) and the buffer stop which is still there at the end of the long siding...

I saw that Ontracks had put some Marklin stuff on sale, including a 36331 SBB Ee3/3, reduced from £240 to £83. Of course I couldn't resist such a bargain, so I snapped it up. Ontracks is not the cheapest source, but with that kind of discount I'm pretty sure I couldn't get this loco cheaper anywhere else.
