Hi all,

I'm going to met up with Bob at midday on Saturday 26th February.

Can any other members make it along.

Would be great to get together.

Ian.

The hotel beside the SECC has an exit that takes you to the exhibition centre. Does a fair bar lunch as well.

Actually it is a top class hotel on the banks of the river Clyde and the exit on one side leads to a bridge which goes to the exhibtion centre.
By parking at the hotel you save on parking fees which can buy a pint of beer and help with the soup and sandwich.

Hi all,

Spent the day at the Glasgow model rail show, with Alan and Bob.

No Märklin layouts, infact only one shop with any Märklin (A&H Models) and he was very keen to sell. Smile

Left the show with Loco's 37975, 37074, 37142 and Set 26548.

Will post some photo's of the show tomorrow, and photo's of the Loco's on BW2.

Ian.

Have you enjoy the show? Did you buy any Marklin or four above, Ian?

Hi Ian. Great pics. We enjoyed our anniversary yesterday and as you can see by this post it is now after 3pm and we have just been up and walked the dogs and had breakfast so I guess I am not going to get there in time as i think it closes about 5pm. Ah well .. such is life but your pics look good although I have to say I think your own layout via the breadboard is better.

Hi Dave,

Thanks, but respectively, I must disagree.

The 2 layouts that I took most of the photo's of, are simply stunning in there detail work.

The Dutch layout (forgot it's name), the water scene's are just brilliant.

The other layout, which is a Glasgow scene from the late 50's/ early 60's called Burnfoot...From East Kilbride Railway Club.

The photo's (very busy at the layout) again do not capture all the fine details.

Must arrange a met soon so I can check out your new layout.

Ian.

Hi Ian. One of our friends is a member of East Kilbride Railway Club. He is an old Hornby guy and if I even mention digital control he goes a funny colour.
Re the new layout it is more or less gone as far as it will go as we are having a new carpet in the railway room and some decor which means it will have to be dimantled. However I have a few months yet and I suppose the upside is I get to start again from scratch. Present C track is now pretty old so will probably buy all new stuff.

Thank you, Ian, for the beautiful photos. Sorry to have missed seeing them in the flesh, as it were. Sadly, we had the bad news that our music director is having to resign which puts the future of the orchestra in question. If it folds I will definitely be at teh SECC next year, D.V.

Best wishes,
Chris.
