If Marklin could have wheeled these off without compromising the integrity of the boiler, they would have. I have just compare my Marklin 3355 class 111, with my roco Lufthansa 111. On the Marklin, the mold lines are at the loco. corners, from bottom, to top. On the Roco, they are just in front of the cab side window and run from bottom all thway over the roof. They are less conspicuous on the marklin, but probably more protoypical on the roco.

He sells worldwide and I believe that he still has a set of these cars available. I checked his web site and his asking price after conversion I believe works out to $422.25 AUS dollars. His website is www.hobbytech.ca and his Marklin selection is both large and very reasonably priced. If you do contact him, let him know I recommended him.

The cost worked out to be a wee bit more than ordering from Europe, once postage was taken into account. However, that would be an option for me, should I decide to get a set, given that the Trix 24204 set should be on my door step sometime next week. Like Lutz and Nikos, I find the Trix weathered BR44's very tempting, and if it is as easy to convert to MM/mfx as what Lutz suggests, that could be an option. Of course now that the v3 update to the CS1 has DCC capabilities, I could leave the Trix loco as is, and update the CS1 instead! Decisions, Decisions! And there's more on the buy list than what there are $$$ available to buy them! Still, I am very thankful that I'm able to buy what items I do purchase, as I know there are people who cannot do this at all, and are struggling to just meet their basic living costs!
