Hi,
I made the searchlight and the snowplough a few years ago and the steam tractor wagon just recently. All good fun.

The searchlight is by Pocher in 3 rail ( I have a 2 rail version too by pure luck) and was presented around 1958. Hard to find now.
Any mods I made are reversible and original parts were kept.( for the horrified Pocher fans). The train is a joint venture of DB, FS and SBB!
The dim light bulb is now an smd LED. The decoder is a TCS micro ( I think). The guard van is a Liliput "sputnik" with diesel drums for the searchlight generator.

Out of interest the photo below shows two versions of a wagon shoe, top is Pocher, bottom is Electrotren.

The snowplough is built on a Marklin chassis with a Kleinbahn body. SBB didn't think much of the original rubber band drive from the axle so a Maxon motor was installed for the snow rotor. ESU decoder. The small red tail light is a fibre optic from inside. The rotor is driven by the throttle.
Some photos and a video.

I have had the Marklin steam tractor model for a few years and decided to use it on a wagon instead of sitting on the layout.
The wagon is a Hornby Dublo 3 rail cast chassis from which I removed the tinplate sides. (The Hornby 3 rail bogies run through C track points without problem which is handy.) I drilled the bogie mounts out and also the coupler rivets and replaced the Hornby couplers with Marklin.
The other bits were scratch built.

The best part of model railway is the diversity of interests.
Thanks,
Howard.

Hi Howard,
You are a mechanical whizz.
I note the lovely lathe metal work, on the securing mech for the traction engine.

Certainly a great way to be occupied.

regards
Kimball

Howard,

Wow, awesome looking conversions.
Who made the orange TE 215 locomotive?
Would like to add one to my collection.
I also have a modified Kleinbahn and Marklin Triebzugwagen set.
Will take some pictures as soon as I can unpack them again.
Keep up the cool conversions.

Walter

Hi Kimball and Walter,
Thanks for the interest and comments.
The TE 215 is a Brawa model. Not sure if it is current but may be obtainable on eBay?
Like to see your mods too Walter!
Regards,
Howard.
