Some of these locomotives were delivered with defective sound decoders. There is no squealing brakes and random sounds. There is a sound upgrade available from Service@maerklin.de Can someone advise on how to upload the sounds into the locomotive from USB memory stick?

Hi Minirail,

All is possible but Marklin Locos are tested 100% before shipment.
In your case it seems the decoder is improperly adjusted. Brakes squealing noise is adjustable (e.g. with a CS2)
Sound cannot be reloaded (only in factory). Usually is does not need to.
Another solution is to do a decoder reset (to factory values).
Good luck
Jean

If you have a cs2 that will probably do it for you if it has the most recent firmware update.

Otherwise you would need the 60971 mDT/3 programmer.

I heard this is different for current mfx+ decoders.
Most likely you upload the sound like you do for msd and msd/3.

I also heard that some 39095 need a sound upgrade to have the sound of squealing brakes - recent deliveries have that sound ex works.

Yes, sure.
A computer tests them automatically while no-one's watching or listening, thus locos with sound problems or poor running can still pass the 100% function test ...

And if the fault is with the sound project then all shipped locos will have faulty sound. Not the first case - and probably not the last.
Regards
Tom
