hi guys am new in this trade so i have my layout so i just bought the new L88 60883 can someone help me out on how to wire it up (do i need the reed switches or not )

Hi Daive,

The 60883 (Link S88) is to feed a CS2 with contact information. It cannot be used without a CS2 and a separate power supply.
So after having plugged the Link S88 to its power supply and to your CS2 you must:

  • On the Link S88, set the switch to work in 5 volts (if you have old S88) or in 12 volts
  • on the CS2, on Setup zone do exactly as per page 18 of attached document. The purpose is to declare the new unit to the CS2 and indicate how many slave S88 you connect on this Link S88.

hi
i have connected as per the link but am not getting this right. i can configure the l88 on my cs2 and i did all the setting as from page 14 to page 18.tell me something i have decoders on my turnouts and the motor so no if am going to use the s88 and the l88 should i remove those decoders on the turnouts and leave the omto alone
