Hi. I have the trix double set of Swiss RE 460 locos with one powered and one unpowered from my 2 rail days.

I have converted the powered one to 3 rail digital and want to power up the second one and do the same but I can not seem to find where to purchase the motor and drive gears. The loco frame is all there for the motor to be attached and the drive axles already have their gears on them.

Does anyone know how one goes about ordering parts please?

Regards

Greg

The Marklin website will allow you to look up part numbers for the parts you need. You can then order those parts either directly from Marklin, or from a good dealer like Lokshop.

Tks Ray. I tried this yesterday as I thought that was the obvious way to go butI found only some of the usual relacement parts listed but nothing else. Maybe I haven't tried hard enough:) I will try again from other angles. Is there a section with fill loco drawings and part numbers on there somewhere?

Hi Greg,

The Märklin 60941/ 60760 motor kits contains the parts you need to power your locomotive, they are pretty easy to find, I have bunch of them, pm me if interested.

Cheers,
Gordon

Not exactly Gordon!
The un-powered loco had a "motor side" bogie deprived of all gears.
You really need the fully equipped replacement if you want to power the loco.

I haven't re-powered mine, I have simply connected it permanently with a C-sinus equipped Re 460.

That one is extremely powerful , and I love the look of that duo in front of a long train.
But the SBB itself doesn't often pair up Re 460s, so that pair on my layout is actually a **BLS Re 465** duo!!
Always more than one way to skin a rabbit!

Blushing oops, thank you Dr. Eisenbahn! I misunderstood the op, thought it needed only a motor. I did try to find the trix parts diagram, with no luck. I then mistakenly assumed the dummy was equipped with a geared unpowered truck. So it sounds like it needs the E415670 Treibgestell or gears and bearings installed in the existing truck in addition to the motor parts.

Your pair of locos sounds awesome Jacques, love the BLS Re 465ThumpUp

Cheers,
Gordon

Hi Greg,

Upgrading the loco with spare - parts would be expensive. I would recommend to buy another Re 460 (any cheap version) , change the mechanical parts between the locos and sell the "new" dummy completed with the parts from your dummy.

Tks. Yes I need all the parts not just the kit parts. A dealer just sent me the drawings to identify the parts from which I shall see if A. The motorised bogie is available as a whole or B. price or what the remaining non kit parts are worth. Then I can decide which way to go.

I can not find where on the Marklin site to find the exploded diagram drawings are - does anyone know how to access these or are they dealer only access? It would be useful as I have other old locos to upgrade in various ways?

I tried the link that you sent me Gordon 34615 and only got "no parts available"? What I really need is a link to the PDF drawings if you have found that before?

if you want to get a spare parts list any Re 460 will do so long it has the same motor, I'm not familiar with Trix locos and I don't know whether they have the sine motor.

Tks - Its the same one I tried. If I type in 34915 - a 1990s model - it says no part avail. 36809 does however so I guess it works for some items not for others. Doesn't make any sense to me - but there you go.
