Hi, going through the spare part list I've never encountered so many different loudspeakers. its almost every time they produce a loco with sound there is a new loudspeaker on the block, are they the same but just a different spare part number or are they all different.

Hi, John,
You do not name any models or speaker ref. numbers ...
How many different speaker ref. numbers have you found and for which models?

Older speakers have 50 or 100 Ohms, newer speakers have 4 or 8 Ohms - in many cases that makes two speakers with identical dimensions.

Locos with space restrictions need special speakers (reduced thickness or reduced diameter), while locos with a lot of space can have larger standard speakers.

Even with H0 gauge only (you posted in General MRR, so we are talking about all gauge here) there should easily be 10 different types of speakers.
There also are at least 6 different types of traction tyres just for H0, at least 4 types of motor brushes listed as spare parts just for H0, ...

Regards
Tom
