received a box of train stuff from father-in-law. found this marklin locomotive at the bottom. it needs a kittle tlc as indicated in pic. was looking for direction for fasteners to reattach linkages then realized the rear drive wheel may be a press fit...? that would mean terminal diagnosis for running, however, could just find fasteners and make it a non-running addition to a siding or such. suggestions?, comments, quotations?.DSCN0929.JPG

Considering a new digital one can be had for under $200.00, unless it has great sentimental value, is the path I would choose. Perhaps on eBay one can find one for parts and leave it at a shed on the layout for repairs. They also used old steamers for stationary power which would make that not unrealistic. Best of luck whoever you go - Fred

If those three (bent rod, missing nut and reattaching wheel) are the only problems it is very repairable but only when you have the tools and knowledge (preferably lathe for knurling the axle) and access to junk lot where to get the nut or a nearby marklin shop that keeps the nut either new or or from a junk lot. If you don't have that then use it in side yards as an abandoned loco, there are plenty in real life yards. Last option, wait until you have enough junk to make a bit lot and list it, people always want them at the right price.
