Hi

I have two 24612 turnouts fitted with 74491 solenoids and 74461 decoders. I am using an Ecos 5200 controller.

When I connect the two turnouts in any combination except for parallel track layout, then both decoders respond to the Controller and the turnouts change.

However, when I connect them as per this image, then only the top most decoder works.

I can swop the turnouts around, but still only the top turnout (closest to the power source) fires. If I connect them in any other configuration, they both fire fine.

The Decoders are coded as 129 and 130 in DCC mode.

Any ideas ?

Thanks
Ian

It sounds like in the 2nd photo there is no digital power going to the switch. Are there by any chance red isolation pins inserted?

I would take a multimeter and check the power between the centre pukos and the outer rail of the bottom switch. If there is none then that is why the decoder doesn't respond and you need to determine why no power. If there is power on top of the switch then I am puzzled as well.
