Hi All

I have a track cleaning wagon #46042. How do I clean the pads on the bottom ? Or can I get replacements.

Thanks

Tim

Apparently you can wash them according to the catalogue . It dose not say what in but presumably warm water & a soap detergent , you could also use a white spirit cleaner which is used in dry cleaning shops for clothes .

Yes, Tom is correct. I put my dirty pads into a resealable plastic sandwich bag with some liquid laundry detergent and a little bleach in it. Leave it overnight and then

scrub them with an old tooth brush. They will come out like new. Cheers,Peter Smile

Hi Tim, I recently bought two of the newer trucks (46049) from Lokshop. To my surprise, there were 4 spare pads inside each truck. Have you looked inside your truck. You might be pleasantly surprised also. Alan

Hi,

Everyone has posted sound advice, the pads can be cleaned with soap; I use the same method as Peter (since I learned it from him :) ). However, for reference extra pads can be purchased, Marklin part number E106291. It is a pack of 10 pads. When I got my cleaning car I purchased extra pads. None have worn out, but I rotate through them until all but the last set are dirty, then wash them all at once. I'm lazy ;)

I use rubbing alcohol Isopropyl.

I simply use a cloth, pour the Isopropyl on it (while attached to the wagon) and then scrub the pads until they look cleaner than before, even if not perfect.

Then, I run the wagon with the pads wet. I repeat the washing after a few runs. This way, I end up with a "wet" cleaning.

Does the job, but needs to be repeated on a regular basis to keep the tracks clean. I am not that diligent in doing it often enough.... Blushing
