Well after much playing with video editing & you tube downloads , here is a short video of my layout . Not all of the track is secured down & the catenary is mainly second hand which accounts for the buckles & zig zags in unusual places . The 3 yr old grandson is at the controls some of the time which accounts for the speed of the Croc hauling the train . Plenty of wiring still not connected & hanging down onto the lower track level but I have most of the busses in place ready for connection. Room is about 9 meters by 4 meters giving use of long straights .

Hope you all enjoy .

Cheers Tom in Oz.

Thanks for the great video. Just curious to know what cameras people are using to film there layouts.

Wal, I've bought a bullet HD camera a few years back with remote control but I think there are many others

The son [ in orange T shirt ] has a heap of GoPro square box cameras which he uses on in cockpit aircraft shoots . These fit nicely on flatcars within the clearance guage ,we have also tried a wireless security camera many years ago but there was too much noise on the receiver side that it was no good . At the moment he is experimenting with a new design of camera called a 360fly which as the name suggests can do a 360 shoot when in use , also needed is a viewing device similar to 3D glasses in the movies . Not suitable for under cantenary usage at the moment as it is too tall , early days yet for this device .

This is what I usually use: GoPro Hd (old model but works great) and Huawei Ascend G7 cell phone (sometimes also my wife´s Olympus camera); editing with IMovies -or Vid Trim Pro if editing from the cell phone-. GoPro is a great tool given its square shape and small size.

Well, I personally admit the kids' voices in the background has made the film more meaningful for me...Love Love

That was a great video; nice seeing someones layout from the engineer's perspective (perhaps passenger in this case). The helix shots were great. Thanks!

Yes, reminds me of riding in a compartment and catching peeks of the locomotive in bends. Very nice video Tom.

Hi Tom, the layout looks great and the Croc is running smoothly at speed throughout, so that was a good test. The view from the train always looks good too. It's great with these small video cameras that we can get the driver's view. Good luck with the next stage in the layout,
John

Yeah great layout and video Tom.
I liked the sounds of the children's voices too.

Thanks.
