Hi everyone Cool

Is it possible to find a table of compliance between rails M and C of marklin?

I saw a layout in rails M, I would want to draw it in ways C

Thank you for your reply

Marklin_mrails-geometrie-1.jpg

Can we say that the rail 5200 is the rail 24330?

Than you for your reply

No. 5200 is 24230, 5100 is 24130, 5120 has no equivalent with C track.
See post #3 in this thread for a link to a reference list.

If you are trying to redraw an M track layout as C track you will have problems for several reasons.

Straight tracks have different lengths for C track to M track, unless you can use 24172 and 24188 as pairs together, or get 24360 track pieces. These will then be the same length as two 5106 straight pieces.

The 5117 points are a full 30 degrees on the curved track at R1 radius. The corresponding points for C track are 24.6 degrees of R2 radius. This creates problems in crossovers between tracks and when you attempt to match curves with two radii.

The result is that you cannot directly convert an M track layout. The best you can do is take the idea of the M track layout and play with track pieces (or layout planning software) until you have a layout that is a similar look and feel to the original.

Hi Alan Cool

When you say : '' The best you can do is take the idea of the M track layout and play with track pieces (or layout planning software) until you have a layout that is a similar look and feel to the original.''. this is exactly what I want to do

Thank your for all your reply
