The most beautiful train in the world is the CP XMAS Train. It arrived here in Hamilton last night. Shown here in daylight, dusk & total darkness, & along a river at night showing beautiful reflections in the water with all its lights. It is a beautiful sight to see & so proud its Canadian. Always flying Canadian & U.S. flags. Live Xmas music at every stop, & food donations are always welcome. Youtube copy.

I don't get it.. If it is a Canadian train, then why is it flying the US flag? Confused Is it actually a US company operating in Canada?

Canadian Pacific is the original Canadian Railway. Over the years, CP has acquired some US assets, including Soo Line, Delaware and Hudson and a few other lines. Most of those operations have over the past decade been rebranded as CP (less emphasis on the "Canadian"). Most recently, CP announced the intention to merge with Norfolk Southern, a major US railroad. Previous attempts to takeover major rail operators in the USA have been blocked by the Transportation and/or Commerce Departments.

CP runs the same Christmas train during November and December on it's Canadian and US lines.
I remember going to Montreal West, Westmount and Dorval to see the CP Christmas Train when I was young.

Regards

Mike C

It's a great Christmas train that ends its Canadian journey here in Port Moody, BC. Unless they have changed it over the years, at the scheduled stops one of the cars opens as a stage with live music and entertainment. A real family treat.

THere are 2 trains, one originating and mostly operating in the USA and the second one mostly operating in Canada.

They alternate their stops and come back every 2nd year. They stopped about 20 min from my place last year but this year, the nearest stop is an hour away. We have warm weather too but the first time I went, it was -15ºC.

In single point perspective, where do track lines meet?
