I have been pondering if any of the forum users are familiar with the Brighton Belle which is quite a famous train in England comprised of Pullman cars:

I consider it unlikely that Marklin would produce any English models, the market for M is too small with Hornby taking the lead.
Years and years ago M produced an English Diesel based on the mechanics of the DB V200,that is all.
Hornby has some nice English trainsets, albeit for DC only.
I like the Mallard and the Flying Scotsman set.

Note Hornby has scale 00 whereas M has scale H0,the Hornby loco's look a bit taller.

The Marklin "Hogwarts Express" loco is a passable British loco, and you can make a good representation of a British train with the coaches from that set.

I think Marklin missed the opportunity to produce the set in Great Western colours. For a small modification at the painint stage it might have been quite attractive to Marklin fans who might want something a bit different on their layouts. Maybe I just love the combination of green locos with chocolate and cream coaches! BigGrin

I don't see any appeal in a multiple unit electric train set like the Brighton Belle, though, even if it is in Pullman colours.

Mostly Marklin.Selection of different eras and European railways
Small C track layout, control by MS2, 100+ trains but run 4-5 at a time.

I have reason to believe that the Harry Potter train was borrowed from Hornby and converted to AC by Marklin.
The loco has a distinctive plastic Hornby feel, nothing like the heavy M locomotives.
There is nothing wrong with Hornby,as long as we know what is what.

don't mention the war (faulty towers) in the early years (1937-1938) before the war they produced an English loco HR 700 LMS, its worth now 40.000 English Pounds

Yeah,i know, but that was more than 75 years ago.
I have the impression there is a gentlemens agreement between Hornby and Marklin not to enter in each others marketing area.
So,rather than hoping for M to produce English trains why not accept the Hornby DC product?

The last real Marklin model of an UK prototype was the 3073:
