Hi,
I control my train with Railuino and try to use Maerklin S88 AC - 60881 with useful info & schematic from http://mchobby.be/wiki/i...?title=Railuino-Reporter

Maerklin 60881 RJ45 Pin assignment seems compatible :
- Power = 2-GND | 6-5V
- S88 = 1-Data | 3-Clock | 4-Load | 5-Reset

But my Arduino have no power !
Solution : I cross GND with 5V and I measure 5V on the Maerklin board

But TrackReporterS88 reads already level 0
Thanks for your help
Important : I will not buy L88 !

Why do you expect the 60881 RJ45 (8 pin) pinout to be the same as the 6088(0) (6 pin) pinout?

Please refer page 9 of the manual for adapter wiring requirements , or buy the 60884 adapter cable.
Note: this adapter is to connect a 60881/2 to an existing controller with 6 pin connection or the Bus3 port of the 60883
If you want to put a 6088(0) behind a 60881/2 you have to revers the pinouts (not documented in the manual)

Hello.

You said that ARDUINO don't get power. Think . . . perhaps you should power ARDUINO itself first with it's own power source.
I'm not sure but I think that if you use 60881 you need to connect it to L88 for right power, L88 certainly need power source itself.
I have mixed S88 devices, old and new ones, with L88 and all works fine, of course you have to mark right addresses.
I have not used new S88 devices with ARDUINO yet, but I will try in near future.

Please write a picture of your own connections and after I have seen your drawing I can say something more.

S88 bus is quite simple, but device connect to it gets their power from the master device of that bus.

Hope you can send the picture soon..

Regards

Jukka

Thanks Jukka,

With the Arduino, I have 5V on the 60881 only when I cross power 5V with GND
--> Maerklin pin assingment is not correct !

Maerklin 60881 seems like standard s88 board with 2 x MC14014 and 4 x MC14044
This board have 1 x CM0106B = 6 Schmitt Trigger = 6 Inverters !!!

I will try to modify railuino.cpp to adapt to this inverters

Best regards
