Hi

I'm interested in the Roco 69174, I'd like to get a sound decoder (already programmed) to control the railcar. Not sure what I need to buy - I'll be using MS2.

Thanks

Cameron

Hi!

ESU has a sound project for class 491.
Project numbers are 56489 for the decoder without mfx and 66489 for the decoder with mfx.
You either need decoder 54400 with sound 56489 (no mfx) or decoder 64400 with sound 66489 (with mfx). Find a dealer who uploads the sound to the decoder for you.

The version with mfx will register automatically with the MS2. But if changes to the decoder settings are needed, then with an MS2 this can be done more easy for the decoder without mfx.

I don't have that train. I don't know which speaker will be the best choice.
Most likely you will have to solder two wires for the speaker if you don't want to use the speaker that comes with the decoder.
Regards
Tom

Have decided against the purchase, nice train though.
