Hello, I am new to this forum. A few months ago I decided to give this hobby another go and I've found that with the digital option there are definitely a lot more things to learn compared to 25 years ago when I had my analog train collection. :-)

Anyway, so I've collected a few locos which all are working fine (all DELTA), but my latest addition is giving me some headaches. It's a 37810 (MFX). I purchased it used and whatever I try it is not responding to anything.

I've confirmed the track is wired correctly. I have it standing on its own an isolated piece of c track and there are no other electronic components connected.

I have a few issues that I don't seem to be able to find answers on, and would appreciate any advice anyone could provide:

- the 37810 is not listed in the train database of my MS2 (wanted to register it like that). Is that normal? Or is the train database only for non-mfx trains?
- I have a suspicion that something's wrong with the loco, but I don't know if/how I can test that. Does anyone have any ideas?
- Is there any way to "reset" a decoder in a loco without knowing its address?

The MS2 is software version 2.5, hardware version 2.1 (in case that matters).

Any advice or suggestion will be very much appreciated.

Yep.

We have many threads about this sort of problem.
I recommend the Search function.

Hi, perhaps you would like to try to run it in analog, be sure that your transformer is white....and see if it runs that that way

Problem solved, the decoder got loose during transport. Pushed it back in and it's working flawlessly. Thanks for all the advice.
