Please explain this in simple English for someone as thick-witted as I am.

I mean about the program to add in the MS2.
Limited content.
To use Märklins new generation decoder 3,you must upgrade MS2 again.
But is it enough space of the MS2?

Is that a fact or is it a Goofy-guess?

The MS1 can handle mfx+ and ESU V4 decoders without upgrade.
The CS1 can handle mfx+ and ESU V4 decoders without upgrade.
Both should be able to handle the new /3 decoders without upgrade.

The buggy MS2 implementation needed an upgrade for ESU V4 decoders and another upgrade for mfx+ decoders - but these were only bug fixes for the quick and dirty mfx implementation of the MS2.

The CS2 doesn't support 32 functions in the UI yet. Maybe they intend to keep the MS2 limited to 16 functions. Time will tell.

You guess!
If there is 16 functions in the MS2,there must been reason for that and it´s to control Märklins locomotive digital functions and not only in the CS2.
To handle with the new decoder 3,you must have same rule in both digital system(CS2 and MS2).

The MS1 can handle mfx+

But you are forcement to upgrade MS2 to version 1.83 to registration mfx+ decoder auto, when you put the locomotive on the track.
Yes MS1 can handle mfx+,but only to call up adress manually.

Why are you laughing?
There is no version 1.83 in the MS1.
You are forcement to call up mfx+ by use manual adress.

MS1 has version 1.8. It doesn't need a bug fix for ESU V4 decoders. It doesn't need a bug fix for mfx+ decoders.

With MS1 or MS2 you cannot assign mfx addresses manually. No way. That's why I was laughing.

MS1 is a mature and complete system. No more updates.

So MS1 has version 1.8...?
I didn´t know that.
It was not necessary to laughing anyway.
Strange...i have never seen anyone use MS1 and locomotive with mfx+ to assign it automatic.

Everything is possible: a new MS/3 soon, a new track box with USB soon, a new CS/3 soon, a CS2 60216 with RailCom+ soon.
Not long ago a new hardware revision for the MS2 was introduced. It is possible that his will be a short-lived hardware revision. But I expect this hardware revision will be made for a longer time.
Speculation and wishful thinking lead nowhere. I will wait for the official announcement.
