Hi!

I'm sure Märklin got, and the registered beta testers got it, but the rest of the world aka we aka the unregistered beta testers didn't get it yet.
But I don't know if it already is "RTM" or still "under construction". Wait with baited breath, it'll come sooner or later.
Regards
Tom

In this mornings email from my Oz distributer......

"New Update 4.0. for the 60213 – 60215 Central Station

In a few days, we will make the newest update Version 4.0.1 available on our Internet server. The main difference compared to the earlier software versions is in the support of mfx registration such as the new semaphore/target signals (70391, 70411, etc.) or the new 764xx series color light signals. "

So a case of wait and see Confused LOL

Sad when its cheaper to buy a new 29640 starter set from Germany than a CS2 on its own in Oz, welcome to the joys of Marklin down under .

I think they often publish such updates on Friday afternoons. Maybe tomorrow, maybe next week, maybe another day ...

Carlos (or webmaster) can you please update the subject title to something meaningful.
e.g. "CS2 v4.0.1(3) available GFP v3.27, MS 2v5, GameWorld 3.9.0

File updates include

ChangeLog - references Beta 3.9 - i.e. old and suspect.
( point your browser at "http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/config/hilfe/ChangeLog.html" )

3 x Loco Icons
- icons/BR 151 033-8.png
- icons/DE 6-6 15301.png
- icons/EL 10-gn.png
( point your browser at "http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/config/icons/BR 151 033-8.png" etc )

3 x mag icons
- #44 - Semapohore Distance : 2 Aspect
- #45 - Semapohore Distance : 3 Aspect
- #46 - Light Distance : 3 Aspect
( point your browser at "http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/config/magicons_/MagIcon_44_00_a.png" etc )

4 x GameWorld Skins - and supporting images
- Cab #33 Eleckto Grau
- Cab #37 BR110_150
- Cab #41 Krokodil
- Cab #45 BR403
( refer MFX+ CabMode definitions )

120 (approx) help files (new or updates) - mostly english and nothin to do with the new features

Misc kernel files with function support apparent as
- support for mfx configuration of new "mfx" signals
(Note: these are still operated by MM or DCC as per DIP switch 10 - they can just now be configured on the layout using the same mfx mechanism used to - reprogram a mfx locomotive decoder)
- MS2 now loading SW:v2.5, (with ... LDB:v014(2014/5), Lang:v1.49, FS:v1.2 , RailBox:v3.9)

some observation visual changes ...
- Very good improvement in translation and grammar (just need to extend across the board)
- tweaks to CV edit screens including Loco icon selection
(bigger lines - easier on the finger but less lines per page : In some cases this is detrimental - notably in the Memory Advanced setting panel)
- Memory function now gives options for locomotive functions F0-F31
(Anyone with a DCC loco with >16 functions want to test ?)
- general feeling of quicker (less sluggish) changes between screens.

Hello coleagues!

Just another flawlessly installation here. Done yesterday.

I don't played too much, so no experience to report... The only thing that I noted was the shutdown last screen (closing doors); when the doors was closed, the screen was turned imediatelly off -- diferent as before as the image remain there for about some minutes.

Cheers,

Walter

Hello all of you.

New version of CS2 sofware is a bit of disappointment for me considering memory. As far as I have seen no changes or possibilities to handle operation/mixed operation.
( hand-button/hand and loco-button). You cannot click on/off possibility to affect to use S88 manually or automatically from inside of memory sequence.

Do anyone have idea how could I get access to this button by any means?

Still Happy Training

Hi there!

What do you mean by "- Memory function now gives options for locomotive functions F0-F31". Are you saying that this new update will enable the extra functions beyond F15?

AFAIK there is no way to toggle that button, except manually from the memory screen. I too would like to be able to call it from a sequence. That way I could make a button and turn it off.

I would also like the ability to toggle emergency stop from a memory sequence. Using L88 I could make a button on my control panel to toggle emergency stop.

Version 3.8 had those as well. At least on the PC (version 3.8.1 (12)), so they may not be new.

I noticed that too. Especially in the memory section.

I have had problems with the CS2 crashing when using recursive memory sequences or memory sequences controlled with Link S88 and S88. These problems seems to be gone now. According to the version 3.9 changelog they have fixed some issues similar to this. I still need to do more testing before I can be sure.

After some testing, the CS2 is capable to call functions from F0 to F15 using the numbers shown in the memory section. I created a quick memory routine where if a given sensor was activated, the CS2 called the F2 function, and it worked, it activated the locomotive sound. However when I tried to activate F16 (the 17th function) thru the same memory routine it doesn't work.

Then, after testing using rocrail, this program was able to actvate the F16 function using the CS2 as a bridge, therefore it is not a hardware limitation, it is just a software feature not fully implemented yet.

After I updated my CS2 to v4.0.1(3), I can't program one of my non-mfx signal (76391). If I push the blue arrow-down button under the settings for the signal nothing happens.

Anyone else who has the same problem?

In the context of the 763xx signals, the CS2 setup panels, and the "blue arrow" are only used for defining the CS2s configuration.
i.e. the name and which Icon to use. Logically these would mirror what the signal is set to but they do not perform signal configuration.

The configuration of the signals themselves still needs to be performed with the aid of the stupid jumper/clip - This is to be installed with power off and then, after power on to the track, the first (and optionally second) buttons that you press indicate the addresses to be set within the signal. You do not enter service/spanner mode on the CS2 for this.

BigGrin Than YOU Peter,

Well now I have to start to study CAN-bus. I have already arduino and also Raspberry and all necessary add-ons. (Ethernet-shield and CAN-bus shield etc).
My meaning was to add cheap RFID indentification to my test layout. Perhaps I do first some testing with S88 ON and S88 OFF.
But first I have to study new update of CS2 all over.

Happy Training

Jukka

Maybe, for a MS2 environment I could see this offering a solution.

But for a CS2 itself, why don't you just use the Ethernet (CAN-over-Ethernet) UDP networking to a PC?

But I dont get the message "Do you want to stop operation of locomotives, so that you can program solenoid accessories?" and the following message "You can program your solenoid accessories after waiting just a second, and after that you can start running locomotives again as usual"?
