The wire from the 24994 goes to one of the 16 sensor input terminals on the 5217. Assuming you have 2 wires from the 24994 this then goes to two of the 16 sensor input terminals.

You then connect the special S88 cable from the Output terminal of the 5217 to the underside S88 receptacle on the CS2.

If this is your first S88 type module you will also need to run a ground (common brown) wire to the appropriate reference terminal of the 5217 (Usually an upside down T) but check the 5217 instruction since I do not have a 5217 handy.

Hi Petert, I forgot to say that is to be connected to the signal Marklin 76391. Is this the correct way.

Thanks, regards,
Carlos.

Hi Carlos,

The Viessmann 5217 is an S88 type feedback module that lets the CS2 know if a sensor has been activated by a locomotive/car/train. The CS2 can the be programmed in the Memory in order to activate the signal. The signal wiring does not got to the Viessmann 5217 module. It must be connected to and controlled by its own decoders.

You can use a Viessman 5211 decoder to operate your signals and turnouts.

A Marklin K83 can also be used.

Hi David :

What's the difference between the 5211 and 5217?

Thank you, Regards,

The 5217 is a feedback decoder, the 5211 is a K83 solenoid decoder designed to switch turnouts, signals and other devices on a layout. They are not interchangeable.
