Dear Readers: There was a collision this morning in Canton Zurich of a fast train with Re 460 Werblok "Rekarail" pulling single decker passenger cars with an S-Bahn RABe 514 double decker. It occurred near Rafz, which is very close to the German border. In fact, Rafz is a small piece of Canton Zurich that is North of the Rhein. The land was owned by a Baden-Wurttemberg Prince who was in debt to bankers in Zurich. I have been camping in Rafz, and you can walk across the border in many completely uncontrolled locations there. Here is the link.--MM

Hi Michael

Thanks for the linkThumpUp

Looks like both trains were trying to occupy the same piece of track. Never a good thing.

Here is the article in English: http://news.yahoo.com/ph...ton-photo-094117987.html

The Re 460 was the "Reka Rail" Advertising loco. I guess it wrecked a lot more than a rail. Reports state that up to 50 people were hurt. The Re 460 was pulling an Intercity train between Zurich and Stuttgart (via Singen).

Regards

The Reka Rail Re460 had a trapped engineer inside, and the emergency crews had to take off the side of the Lokfuhrerstand to rescue him.--MM
