Guys

I have installed k83 from viessmann and they work great (thanks to all for the help with the yellow wires) and now moving onto the s88.

I am starting on my small layout at home to get a feel for everything first.

I cannot get the CS2 (60215 hardware version 5, software version 3.0.1) to recognize the s88. I think?

I am using circuit tracks ( "flipper switches) and have wired them to the viessmann 5217 s88 which are connected to CS2.

I am NOT using a ground to the upside down T on the s88. Reading through some posts I got the idea that was only needed with earlier CS. Would it hurt anything to try this?

Is there any way to know if the s88 is even being recognized by the CS2? Are the LED's on the s88 supposed to light up? If so when? Is there a way to check and see if the s88 is actually getting any signals? Any way to check to see if s88 is sending impulses to CS2?

I am sure that the circuit tracks work (at least some of them) as they were working when it was analog.

So I am not sure if the problem is the s88 or the CS2 or some connection/combination between them or the fact I am not programming an automatic route correctly.

Thanks

Laxman

You do need to use the ground connection.

I have the same setup as you (60214 CS2) and am using the ground connection on the 5217's.

Big daddy

Thanks! I will try it this weekend and report back.

Will the LED lights on the 5217 light up when circuit is closed by a circuit or contact track?

I got this out the help flies of my 60214

The S 88 Feedback Decoder

An S 88 (60881) feedback decoder can be connected to the Central Station. Additional feedback decoders are connected "in series" with the first one. When doing this, make sure you read the instructions for the feedback decoder.

Note: Make sure that one of the S 88 feedback decoders connected to the Central Station is also connected to the ground for the track. Otherwise, you may have malfunctions.
Also make sure you read the instructions for the feedback decoder.
Under no circumstances may several S 88 feedback decoders be connected to the ground in different power consumption areas. You only need to have one feedback decoder connected this way.

Confused Confused

Viessmann 5217's don't have any LED's on them (at least mine don't).

I hooked up the ground to the "T" ground connector on the s88 (viessmann 5217) and everything seemed to work perfect.

Thanks much

An S 88 (60881) feedback decoder ....

Just a timely reminder that this is a long standing error in the help file

the S88 product number may be 6088 or 60880.

The 60881 is a recent announcement and has yet to ship, it also uses a different connector.
