Just a thought, but looking at the info about the new locomotive and wagons for the club model 2014, The E94 and the sets to go with it. I was hoping they were going to make the bogie cement silo in the photo. On page 10 of insider club news 5. The wagon sets they are going to produce will be nice to have, but I thought this wagon looked interesting. BigGrin
This got me thinking, as a fan of the Marklin wagons, I would like to have one of these or even a rake. I would also like a car transporter of a different type than already made by them in the past.

Thinking of Z scale, I must agree with your choice. The little two-silo 2-axle wagons have been around for a long time and now would be a good time to get something more modern (or less old).

Z scale MoW wagons would be good too Drool Love

Interesting choices, I like the fridge wagons! I have seen the blue one as far away as Britanny in France in a mixed freight!

Baring in mind the volume of grain, powder and liquids transported on the European Rail network, I would like to see more choice of suitable tankers and silo cars for the transportation of said products, and maybe some special sets as well, such as a special chemical wagon set of BASF cars. Hi,
Marklin 46274 box car is obviously very popular, as it has been in the Marklin program continuously since 2000.

Could Marklin expand that production by producing:
1. A different road number
2. A set of 2 or 3 with different numbers
3. A weathered version with a different road number
4. A weathered set of 2 or 3
5. I am sure I've seen this same (or similar) wagon in SNCF, and SNCB colours, maybe even SF and SBB, so would like them.

Kimball,

that car or similar is already available in other railways. I have the FS one from the 47878 set, the SBB one from the set with the orange shunter (don't remember the number), there were also other variants over the years.
If you like freight cars, you should check out the set of 3 classic FS cars which were just released. They could be found in international traffic throughout Europe.

I have a collection of beer wagons, so it would be great to have a GUINNESS wagon from my native Ireland. Did a google search on Marklin Guinness and only discovered some chap in Belgium who holds the Guinness World record for the most Marklin wagons ......1982 of them I believe !!

It has been a topic of discussion before, but I would love to see a few more MOW cars. My preference would be DB era III/IV, but anything would be nice.

I don't have much info other than it is marked 84416, which seems to be one of those numbers with many different models assigned.

Any chance of M retooling this with a set in era III?

Several Marklin starter sets include a version of this wagon with a different chassis, including a brakeman's cabin and close couplers.

UserPostedImage

I don't know if this is just a fantasy wagon made up of the 4610 body with a chassis from another wagon?

Anyway it looks good!

I think the John Cousins collection disposed of through Warwick and Warwick in 2014-15, must have come close if not bettered the world record, I heard he had a standing order for over 20 years for at least one of every wagon produced by Marklin.

Anyone interested the Workd Record can be found on this link;

http://www.guinnessworldrecords...tion-of-maerklin-waggons

Extract from page;

The largest collection of Märklin wagons belongs to Gilles Monk (Belgium), with 1982 different pieces, which he has been collecting since 1980. See Märklin history attachment. CD with pictures of all trains provided. Mr Monk’s favourite train is the “Crocodile” which is an entirely gold plated train produced in only 50 pieces for a press conference held by Märklin in 1983, only given to journalists.
