G-Day everyone,

are Queensland Rail using giant Marklin 5112 uncoupling sections these days?

Does anyone know the reason for the twin centre rail(mostly at the stations running the length of the platform) or can I expect some 1 to 1 Marklin soon?!

QR did have a big bloke with an uncoupler stick (actually a recycled sleeper), but he got a hernia after decoupling a long line of coal wagons a few years back. So they decided to make a big uncoupler, based on a Marklin design. To get around the copyright issues, they painted it yellow and made it look like a big s88 sensor..

First, thanks for editing, Second the S88 sensor is part of the train safety system and works via magnetic induction or similar and not by direct pressure ie. a pickup shoe!
