Good evening,

I've been busy creating my Swiss Alps to blend into the Noch mountains backdrop on my layout and so far this is what I have done. If you look at the pictures you will notice that I still have to create the lakes which I will do later this week. Hope you like!

Michel

Hi Fabrice and Dennis,

I just sealed the mountains and once I finish the rest of the room then I will add rocks and foliage.

I will need to add the catanery before I finish ballasting, lots to do but very enjoyable!Love

It matches well but I think it's maybe not the right colour for mountains. Maybe l'll change it later because it's amazing what a can of white paint can do to change a scene if you don't like it, I've already done that once!Cool

Here are more pictures.

Regards,

Michel

Hi Peter,

Thanks for the compliment!

On the lower level I will be making tunnels and snow sheds. That will be below the blue foam on the pictures, phase 2 of the layout. My next step will be the other side of the room. I'm planning to post construction pictures as I have been getting questions as to how I make it from visitors to my layout.

Regards,

Michel

I used Design Masters Clear Finish which provides a durable matte protectant and a hard finish.

There is nothing quite like floor to ceiling scenery to make a layout feel awesome.

That looks real good, and blends well with the backdrop.

Good Evening,

I thought I would show you the making of the two lakes on my Alps. If you look at the previous pictures you can see the unfinished areas for the lakes. I had to use a level on two axis to make sure that the plywood surface was flat before I molded it into the ground with dental plaster. Now it's time to dry, tomorrow I'll paint and post more pictures. Michel

Bravo, Michel! BigGrin ThumpUp

Try to make the colour of the mountains you built match the colours in the posters; the shade of brown is important.

A bientot, mon ami.

I agree! Once I have it all done I will post more pictures and get members opinions on the colours. Then I will change if need be!

Due to the nice weather I think the hobby will take a break!

Sorry for not posting any new pictures, nothing to show.

Finally Summer has come to Barrie, Ontario Canada!

Well I painted the two lakes and I still have to apply the polyurethane to make a shiny reflective surface. Overall I'm happy about it, but I think my painting of the mountains are too dark?

Hi Michel,

Looks great, nothing like a mountain ( or 2 ) on your layout.

Ian.
