I am looking to make a modification to run some of my older tin plate passenger cars. As we all know, the older carriages had 12mm wheels whereas now the standard is 10mm, throwing the height of. So to get to the point, who knows the part number for the 10mm AC wheel sets for tin plate carriages? Thanks in advance

There are several different axles for "tin plate" coaches!!
You should be more specific on the type of coach(es)...and we'll certainly be able to point you in the right direction. 😉

The tin plate coaches from the 1950s had 12mm wheelsets. The ones from the 1960s (UIC X and TEE coaches) probably have 11 or 10mm wheelsets (I haven't measured them). I am not sure if you can simply replace the original wheelsets with smaller radius one because the coupler height might cause the coupling to touch the centre rail, especially at switch tracks.

The parts can be found here: http://www.buco-hag-maer..._id=101&cat_id=83629

Some older models have a different fixation system and require axles with a longer and thinner pin on each end.

Whoops! Blushing

I did a bit more searching and found that part 700100 is for:

4022, 4023, 4024, 4026, 4027, 4029, 4030, 4031 and 4032 carriages from after 1968

4037, 4044, 4045, 4048, 4049, 4050, 4051, 4052, 4053, 4066, 4068, 4069, 4072, 4073, 4076, 4078, 4079, 4080, 4085, 4086, 4087, 4088, 4089 and 4090 carriages from 1972-1980

4064 and 4065 carriages from 1966 to 1980.

I hope that this has cleared things up a bit more.

You may want to take a look at these pages, as they have a bit more information: http://stummiforum.de/viewtopic.php?t=35108 http://www.sps-wagner.de/moba/index.html#Achse
