Hello, Everyone:

I am trying to resuscitate some US and Fleischmann wagons whose couplers cannot be changed because they do not have a screw that holds the coupler together.

I am planning on using a bit of glue and attach a NEM pocket to each side of the wagon; inside the pocket I then would insert a coupler. I have done this on one wagon that had a screw with very good results.

Problem is: getting more NEM pockets; I only have one left.

Marklin used to sell them as article no. 203679, but this item is discontinued and no longer available.

Does anyone know where I could get a fresh supply (not necessarily from Marklin)?

Thank you.

Roco used to sell a part (40344) that could be used to convert 2 axle and short 4 axle cars/coaches to operate with a NEM socket.

Krois has their own and Symoba models on their website: http://shop.krois-modell...pler-Pockets:::1_78.html

These will permit true close coupling operation.

Märklin is the model rail road with the clear system.

Five-digit spare part numbers get padded with a "0" on the right side. Six-digit spare part numbers get padded with an "E" on the left side.

E203679 is not discontinued, it's available at Märklin and any Märklin dealer can order it for you. It now comes in a bag of four.

That's excellent news! ThumpUp I will do so today and will let you know.

Thanks to both Mike C and Ho for your assistance. Much appreciated. BigGrin

There is a Fleischmann part that can be used as well. John's Photo and Hobby usually has a good selection. The following page at Reynauld's has pictures and may help you find what you are looking for. I suspect it is 6523 towards the bottom of the page

Fleischmann makes conversion parts to convert the Fleischmann standard coupling to Maerklin type coupling and to the Fleischmann Profi-Coupling, but does not have a conversion to a NEM socket.
