I have one on order with Lokshop.

Only small numbers of 31016 for some German mail order dealers but most all sold to orders, The rest is for Swiss dealers.

This item is being produced for Maerklin Switzerland and the majority of models will go to dealers in the Swiss dealer network. It is likely that some German dealers will have limited stock as well.
The models are also being produced by a Hag and just announced by Roco.

If it was up to me, I would take the Hag Re 460 and the Roco or Maerklin Re 4/4II, but that is just my opinion.

It will be difficult , even impossible, for us here to comman these series .

It is reserved for certain countries, in particular Switzerland and I knew personally some setbacks when I was in my native country.

In the 1990s, a special series of a Swiss loco is launched on the market. I wanted to command it, not in Belgium, but directly in Switzerlan, the command was never recorded.

The reason: my country ....Belgium is not Switzerland

Dear Steventrain are those two new items 37017 and 37935 related to SBB / BLS too?

Hi Sank Cool

Why ? It is simple: the too expensive shipment charges

Hi Thewolf,

You may have a look at the swiss post website www.poste.ch. 1 parcel switzerland to canada international priority weight up to 3kg is 73.- swiss francs. Delievry within 5 to 8 open days.

Of course i understand that for some 73.- CHF is not cheap, i m not sure ups & co will be so economic.

That is normal for 'small run' sets like these.

The same is true for the crocodile/Da set to commemorate the crocodile visit to Sweden. This set won't be delivered until about April, or maybe later. The Gottardo set is set for delivery in a similar time frame.

Hi Everyone

Because of financial pressure, the wife, I have just had to cancel my order for the Marklin 31016 set from this shop

c-gleis-plus ag
Hubel 4
CH-6214 Schenkon

The guy in charge is Andre Bregenzer. The price was 649 Swiss francs plus 45 Swiss francs for delivery to the U.K. If anyone is interested and has not got one on order here's a chance to get one!
I have purchased items from him before without any issues or problems.

Please let him know that Harry told you about it, I am not on commission, but I feel bad about letting him down.

From a post in the German Stummi Forum:
https://abload.de/img/wp...60510_21_14_53_d6su0.jpg
http://www.stummiforum.d...pic.php?f=2&t=137280

I was disappointed to see that Maerklin has once again delivered a Swiss model with incorrect details. I am not talking about details that required to be changed for operation, but rather that somebody simply chose the wrong part to include on the production model. If you look at the advance photos, the model came with the correct BBC type pantographs http://www.roundhouse.ch...0258-6-Gottardo-2016.jpg

The pantographs should be the same as the ones on the 37325 Re 6/6 (E162508) and not the ones from the 37347 Re 420 (E224879)

Soooo, look what came in the mail this morning!!BigGrin
It does pay off when you are a faithful customer of a well performing dealer! Cool
The Re 420 is particularly well made with the cab AC grille now an added piece (instead of just printed) and the right rearview mirror on each cab.
Marking is spotless.
Test run this afternoon!

Edit: test run successful. Good old Märklin 5 pole motors, flawless! Lots of sounds, but to me a bit too loud. I just don't have to switch them on! (-:

I may have one or two pairs of metal colour BBC pantographs around here, as I replaced some of mine with the grey ones from the more recent Re 6/6 versions.
If you are interested in a pair, let me know and I will see what we can work out.

Thank you for the suggestion Mike.
But I am sure the HAG loco is already very collectable, and I have a hunch the Märklin will probably be there soon too.
So, what would be the logic in altering them by changing pantos?

I have little to add to Jacques' great review, smooth runners indeed.
I particularly like the RE 420 with its details and extensive sound and light functions (as in the 37347/8/9)

I'm just a bit concerned about Jacques' certificate, numbered 1865, while it had been announced to be a 1000 pc limited edition....
Oh well, maybe they only issued odd numbers Blink

Yes you're probably right - might have been increased to 2000 or 2016 pieces.
The 1000 pieces limit probably came from the initial press release in October, which I can't locate anymore, but it still is being cited by several Swiss dealers. The M* leaflet does not mention a specific number - see posts #1-3 above.

Originally it was announced here to be an edition exclusively available in Switzerland and limited to 999 units. Confused Huh

Sure, "good bait catches mice", and I am personally never impressed by words such as "limited" or "exclusive", but as in the case of the Goliath crane I find it debatable to initially make an announcement similar to a promise and then to simply double the production number. ThumbDown

What I find sad, is that the Marklin price is 649 euros and the first one is well above that price.
Also another dealer is showing the set as 519 euros but out of stock, when it was it stock the price was 649 euros

Also most dealers in Switzerland who hav stock for sale are charging 649chf, this would be about 580 euros.

Mine is 1815
I searched the brochure that was sent with the Märklín Insider. Nowhere says 1,000 pcs
I don't How many the do it... but 2016 pcs it's a reasonable quantity

I sent a mail to Märklin last month enquiring about the number produced, and today, I received the answer:

"the Model 31016 was limited to 1.500 pieces."

Which does not solve the puzzle about the #1815 certificate...

A German dealer put 8 sets on Ebay at 799.90 € last week. 4 were sold the first day, the others are still there.

reply from Marklin.

Quote:
Dear ########,

this set is limited, but not on a fixed account, which we tell our customers. So the account can be more or less as 999 pieces.

Sincerely yours,

Your Maerklin Customer Service
