hello everyone and i hope everyone has had a lovely christmas.

im not sure if iv posted this in thr correct area, apologies if not, and feel free (mod) to move it if so ...

im going to berlin on 29th december - does anyone here know of and recommend model shops that they know of / have visited in berlin and recommend?

please only suggest shops that you have either visited or have dealt with rather than just "heard of" ...

berlin is a big city and i dont wanna go walking for miles looking for a shop that someone "might have heard of" and it has either closed down / moved / doesnt exist kinda thing!

im looking for a shop the sells (well obviously!) marklin, but also minitrix, fleischmann, brawa and roco.

so personal experiences only please - and i would be very very grateful.

wishing everyone a lovely christmas.

regards,

jay

Again, here are my recommendations:

When in Berlin, be sure to see Loxx: http://loxx-berlin.de/

Also, this is one of my favorite shops: http://www.modellbahn-pietsch.com/ (all brands and scales)

Finally, this is a great Museum: http://www.deutsches-tec...in.de/Englisch.55.0.html

These are all close to S/U bahn stations. At Loxx, they also have a train shop.

I have been to all of these, and I must say that although Pietsch is a bit out of the way, I found it a really nice place. The employees are very helpful, and they have a large variety of all brands. They also kinda speak English, and since I kinda speak German, we kinda figured it all out.

Another shop I have gotten various things in is Turburg, Lietzenburger Strasse 51, D-10789 Berlin Turburg website. They are in West Berlin and more central than Pietsch. Enjoy, and dress warmly!!--MM

Don't forget Mischa's store in a side street near the bombed cathedral at the Zoo bahnoff in Berlin. Heaps of new & s,hand stuff, they have other shops in Berlin but this is the only 1 I have been to.

Phewwwwwwwwwww, in between doing some digging in the garden removing weeds to keep SWMBO happy & getting stuck into the layout which hasn't seen any work for almost 2 years as the grown son had taken over any spare bench space building models of F111 jets I eventually found the street on Google earth. On the corner of Marburger Str & Tauentzien Str [main shopping mall] there should be a VW Kombi or sedan with a large sign on roof pointing down to the shop on the left hand side approx 1/2 way along the Street.

I'm not positive if it is Marburger or Nurberger Str but these are adjoining streets so apologies if I have the wrong one. Now back to the Cricket & watching OZ get flogged by a mob of mad poms.

Correct spelling & also a map with directions to both shops as there is a group that works together in sales.
