Members,
Please have a look at the pictures. I have been doing this "relief cutouts" in my storage boxes. I understand for shipping purposes Marklin wants a snug fit to handle the impacts. But when I want to open the cars from their spots I am worried of that crackling sound of something snapping of.
Immediately I make these cutouts so that it will easily removal and placing back while using the poly film as a cradle.
Am I worrying too much or too crazy...
Like to hear your experiences
Have a great weekend

I remove upto 2-3 mm of foam all around so that the snug fit doesnt rub or damage any detail on the car...it may be end doors or some fine detail on the top, I just chose to show the picture where I had made relief for wheels.
I am not worried the wheels may come off, but the wheels rubbing against foam and may bend something or loose alignment...
