Hi friends

I got the DB BR 184 as a part of a set. Its a great Lok, runs very well. But has only the 3 lights front and back. I want to upgrade this so can have sounds too. can I do that?

I believe that that locomotive was one of the ones that were designed by Trix and then issued in AC by Maerklin. It should be possible to add a decoder to it. I am not sure of what other adaptations may be required to convert an analog version to DC. What was the item number of the set? I know that there was a set (digital and analog versions) with a 184 and Rola cars with trucks.

I also know that LS Models has a ESU decoder with sounds for the BR 184. ESU might also have a separate sound file too.

Regards

My Br 184 (37312) has the standard Marklin DCM motor.

It is no great problem to replace the supplied decoder with a sound decoder and add a speaker.
