When Märklin started producing these locos (1600 series) there were 4 different roadnumbers under catalogue number 3526: 1601 (Amsterdam), 1650 (Den Haag), 1652 (Utrecht), 1657 (Rotterdam), so far I remember there was no special announcement made regarding the different road numbers, whether I came across in the Kolls catalogue or someone else I can't remember, other numbers were 1631 and 1607 (Vlissingen) both under the catalogue number 3326, I sold all of them because I've realized there are to many State railway companies on my layout.

The 3326 NS 1607 Vlissingen (=Flushing) is rather special,it has the logo on for 150 years railways in The Netherlands and a text in Dutch saying it pulled the longest passengertrain in the world.
This is a nice model to have, together with the 4391 set of intercity coaches having big white text on one side to commemmorate the event.

The 1607 has meanwhile been scrapped,it should have gone to our national railwaymuseum in Utrecht.

These are nice heavy Marklin locomotives,be it that the white isolators on the roof are not glued, they just have been pressed in and do easily depart, after which it took me some time to fix the roof wires to the isolators again.

The French built series 1600/1700/1800 have been a great success in The Netherlands, used for all sorts of trains, passenger and freight, intercity and suburban traffic.
Have more than you show, speak less than you know (Shakespeare).
