I'm not sure this is the proper place to post this. . .

I've got a circa 1964 model 3060 which has been running poorly. Sluggish, no power, etc. I dismantled it to clean, and noticed that one of the gear axles is "floating" where I'd expect to see a bearing (See photo. Red circle indicates axle in question).

Is this normal or not? I don't know if it would cause the noted problems or not, but if it's not correct, I'd like to see about getting it repaired.

Clearly the gears are worn out (I can tell from the shape!!)
There is only one cure: replace!
Most are difficult to get these days from mother M, but I have them still from my days as a M repairman.
Let me know what you need.

Yes, the brass one on the right definitely has teeth that are very worn. The others don't look so bad, but i would be tempted to replace them anyway.

You should also look at the gears on the wheels, as they will probably be in a similar state.
