I was have a look at the Fall New Items 2015 brochure and I was wondering what loco would have pulled the wagons in the 43867 set.. The year modelled is 1985. (Era IV). I was wondering if my new 50 year MM loco would be suitable. Blushing

Any suggestions?
Adrian

Hi Adrian,

Any loco from the 1980s would be suitable, preferably from before the "red" loco period.

I've no idea what the Marklin Magazine loco is but I would suggest a Br216 or 218 in blue/cream, or an electric in similar colours, like a Br111 or 110.

A loco in fantasy livery without prototype can be used with any train.

There still were blue locos in the '80s - but it would rather be marked 103 instead of E 03 at that time. But such a small detail can be ignored.

Besides blue/cream locos with the old DB logo, any green or blue electric (without E) and any dark-red diesel (without V) should do. 110, 140, 141, 218, 211, 212, 220, 221.
Or 103 and 120.0 in beige/red.
Regards
Tom

Hi Tom, I guess some of the locos were never re-painted into blue/cream and were either retired still in the old colours or were repainted directly into the new red. Is there a resource where one could check individual loco numbers to see what colours they wore on different dates?

I know this German site:
http://revisionsdaten.de...atenbank/suche.php?art=1

I randomly picked 110 103:
http://revisionsdaten.de...p;art=1&such_start=0

It seems 110 103 was blue ("bl") until 1984 when it turned blue/cream ("ob") to finally become red ("rw") in 1995.

Thanks for the replies. I already have the 2856 Frankfurt Airport Express set. Would the loco from this set do the job?
