Vincent could see colors average people could not see,he could see the absolute beauty of life in simple things like sunflowers or a starry night,and i admire him for that. I think the model truly reflects Vincents views. On a sidenote it should be observed that Vincent was known to be addicted to a liquor called Absint,for which sale was forbidden in Europe for a long time. It is claimed that drinking a lot of Absint can cause you to hallicunate. The ingredient causing this is called Thujon and comes from specific plants found in nature.
