Hi All,

From time to time, Walthers loses all its marbles and does huge Marklin sale.
I am still shaking my head looking at all the sale items at ridiculous prices, but it is true.
I called them to verify that on many Marklin models their stock is between 3-15 pieces, so it will go fast.

This is a hell of a buying opportunity! Click below and see for yourself.

Marklin HO
Marklin Z
Marklin 1 gauge

Have fun!
Michael

I´m not really sure why,but it seems to small interested of the three rail system and expensive of the Märklin trains.
USA do have economic problems too.
Maybe it´s just only sale...

No, Goofy, this is across the board sale - all usual suspects, such as Faller, Trix, LGB, Busch, etc. Also a ton of American manufacturers.
If I may be so bold and point you to my recent Newsletter

I should take the change and order the MTH Challenger :-)

If you have heard bad feedback regarding MTH locos, it is a russian roulette and so far, I've been lucky. MTH locos are very strong pullers and well detailed machines, the problem is always related to the decoder. Want to have a reliable US made, 3 rail locomotive? Get a MTH locomotive and replace the board and decoder for another brand.

Price will go up, but you'll have a superb machine.

There are a few for sale that are on my 'could buy' list that fit my era.

Unfortunately since the AU $ value plummeted they're no cheaper for me now than when they were full price, so I can't see myself buying.

Is this really a Walthers' sale or an individual European Model Trains sale?

Usually when Walthers discounts items you get notifications from Reynaulds, Euro Rail Hobbies, and other North American retailers. This time nothing from them.

I ordered direct from Walthers and my order should be here later today.

26578 DB "Farming" Train Set 1 @ $ 204.98 $ 204.98 (Sale) Reg. $305
37616 DB cl 261 Diesel Loco(EX) 1 @ $ 189.98 $ 189.98 (Sale) Reg. $304
37811 DB cl 50 Stm Loco wo/Snd 1 @ $ 254.98 $ 254.98 (Sale) Reg. $418

I think the reductions are pretty good. The diesel has sound and telex couplers.

Can't wait to get my package today.

Hi:

Received my package today from Walthers. Picked up 2 (5 car) freight sets, the Norwegian 2-10-0 steam loco and the green Norwegian articulated electric loco. It was cheaper than going through any US dealer...FREE shipping and no sales tax.

Regards, Paul

My package arrived today. Everything looked good and ran well. I do think all three engines need a bit of oil though. Probably sitting around for a few years.

As a long-time on-again-off-again lurker in this wonderful forum, as one whose trains are mostly trapped in boxes in the attic, I must express my displeasure at finding out about this sale. Ordered some car sets... now to pull out some locos and set up a secret oval in my study Cool

Thanks!
