The Trix items are out too. :) My wish was granted: They did not forget the Trix C track in their C track expansion. Awesome! Smile

Interesting news on the C track switches! So are they R3/R4, or R2/R3? Anyone seen geometry diagrams featuring them yet?

Mildly annoyed by the 31100 loco set. Its an odd pair of locomotives to package together. I'd LOVE to buy the reproduction 3019, but I don't need another green crocodile...

I suspect they are R3/R3 just like the current ones are R1/R1, with a bit of straight in them to go to the outer radius.

Yes the 24771/2 are R3/R3 with a 24064 (compared to the 24671/2 which are R1/R1 with 24077)
For use in transitioning to R4 , and R5 (compared with R2 and R3)

And you also need TWO of the new 24315s (half R3 curve) which have removable roadbed like the 24071 as needed for the 24711/24712/24740

The images show the base turnout to be 30 degrees - adding a 24315 would make the combined solution 45 degrees.
The would restrict the R5 option down to the old method of just adding multiple straights at the start and finish

I got all excited about the new tooling release of the E60 in era IIIa, and was about to dash off an email to my dealer.
Then I saw it was Gauge 1, and probably out of my budget.

About the Christmas BR50 37838, they say
"Use of this locomotive with a Christmas tree and a Christmas design has not been confirmed."

Is that a tongue-in-cheek remark with a little German humour?

Kimball

I'd prefer the Crocodile, as I don't have a 3015 (as yet). I don't have a 3019 either, but I can take or leave the loco in this set.

Lokshop already have a price for this set - 719.90 Eur inc VAT (799.99 RRP).

Price on the 60975 decoder is 89.90 Eur (99.99 RRP), as is the 60978 so I assume all the other mSD/3 decoders are the same price. Price on the 60972 mLD/3 decoder is 35.90 Eur (39.99 RRP), and the Christmas Br 50 (item 37838) is 404.90 Eur (449.99 RRP). The 60971 decoder programmer is 71.90 Eur (79.99 RRP).

You can find the English version of the Trix fall news on the Trix site (click "Download" below "New Items 2015"):

Didn't find the English version of the Märklin items.

Not tempted by much in the New items, except for the G12. However the new decoders are interesting, and the USB programmer might make a good investment.

I like the R3 curved turnouts and I wish I had the extra space to consider switching my R1/R2 to R3/R4, but at this time I don't. Maybe one day....

The Trix East German green/cream coaches look great, and I wonder if they will be available seperately. I have similar ones by Piko which I use behind my Ludmilla.

Please note that a leading "1" in the ref number denotes N gauge items.

Time will tell whether the old USB programmer can also handle the new decoders and whether the new USB programmer can do more than the old one.

It seems that CS2 owners won't need the USB programmer unless they are in a hurry.

Time will tell how many sound projects they will make for mSD and mSD/3.

The USB programmer might make a good investment if you are determined not to buy a CS2 or CS3 (or maybe CS/3) but will also buy quite a few mSD/3 decoders.

Hi Tom,

Yes of course! The Trix coaches are N gauge. I should have spotted that, but it's not the first time I've been fooled in that way! BigGrin

I have no intention of ever spending the money that a CS represents. It's just not worth it for my small layout. I do expect though that my existing collection of locos will continue to be upgraded to digital, and I can see the possibility that some of my silent locos might get sound, so I may have a use for the programmer.

Hi Friends. Does anyone know approximately how long it usually takes for SCARM to update? I wanted to see if the new Wide radius curved points 24771/2

will fit a particular area on my layout? Cheers, PeterCool

Yes, i have just put through an order on Lokshop as well Cool Drool

I note that the 31100 set is for all those who are drooling over the Swiss Crocodile going to Sweden, which is why the second loco is the Swedish one.

I do like that both are in the 'old style' production with blue boxes.

Unfortunately I think the 31100 is going to be beyond my budget this year, and as it is a 'limited number edition' (limited to 3000) I don't like my chances of getting a price reduced one later on once all the excitement has died down.

Depressingly, there are no less than three new Loks to buy, not including the Swiss-Swedish set that is very tempting.Crying

I did manage to avoid the black E94!

Seems there have been a couple of new Idee & Spiel items announced too. Found these links on one of the German shop sites ...

Marklin 47582 tanker

Marklin 43991 Red Cross wagon - can't work out what train one would run this in apart from having a whole train of them, maybe I&S are starting a new series of red Cross based wagons and coaches.

Also found the LGB Herbst NI 2015 brochure there for those who are size and not money challenged ... BigGrin

Check the price with 'Please login to get "your" personal price'. (31100-648 EUR, 37838-364 EUR).

37838 is as bit less outside the Eu but no doubt our Customs would love to add to that Cursing ThumbDown

Here's a video of it;

Yes I agree with the 43868/7, but strangely the Xmas Lok is the only one I have in my shopping cart, which doesn't mean I'll actually order it !?
I consider it would be the right Lok for a Marklin Xmas train, if I ever ran one, but I do have a few Xmas cars Wink
See previous post.
I think most of these Loks will have the new decoders and especially the Xmas one as it's array of sounds would be a fairly large file see;

http://www.maerklin.de/p...SetNew=1&bShowLogo=0

type in 37838 if you need to !?

It´s madness to spent this locomotive about €484,00!!
It´s the price cost in Sweden.

I do not think I have seen any discussion on the 43868 "Entertainment car" nor a reference to the mAR app. The App is introduced in the Editorial on page 2 and refers to 4 pages within the catalog with the mAR logo

For those who may still need some perspective (due to very scant description/instructions) I offer the following..

mAR (which I think stands for Marklin Augmented Reality) is an App for your iPad/Android device
Ref: https://play.google.com/....MaerklinArAPP&hl=en
It uses your devices camera to look at a view of the actual pg9 (for the 43868) of the Fall catalog and superimposes the 43868 image in a 3D appearance that looks like it is suspended above the page.

- after downloading the mAR App, start it and authorise the use of the camera
- the screen shows a normal camera view
HOWEVER
- if you focus on pg 9 of the catalog (will also work if you view a screen image of pg9) you will suddenly see the image of the entertainment car appear
- by moving around (rotating the page) you may navigate around the image in 3D.

At the base of the screen is the top image of a CS2 this may be selected to show the full CS2 with the 15 function buttons that may be pressed to simulate the visual and audio aspects of the car.

This car also accepts a microSD card for loading/playing your own music

--
The other 3 items covered by mAR are
- the BR50 Christmas lok
- the myworld update
- the new decoders
Peter

See my post over here for info on downloading the sounds on the sullied card, from the Marklin web site.

Now all the excitement has died down, who has looked through the Trix Herbst NI?

One item of note is that purchasers of the 47085 wood train set can purchase another set from Trix under catalogue number 24246, which has different betriebs numbers for the wagons.

I agree it is totally overpriced.
It is enough to compare with other digitalized re-issues of others loks (like the BR01) to understand they are overpriced. Well IMHO this is just rational, but if they are already almost sold out at the factory, then maybe I am not seeing in the right perspective or the buyers are taking emotional decisions. Or... maybe it will be profitable, but with a start at this price I think it is not easy...
Best regards,
Miguel
