Understand tonight there was a train collision at Johannesburg with 100 to 200 wounded people?
Informatioin is scarce.
Any info please?

Yes there were over 200 injuries,fortunatly no fatalities.
The accident happened at Booysens station. An incomming passenger train ran into the back of a stationary passenger train
in the evening peak hour.

An eyewitness spoke to the driver of the incomming train. The driver said that the signal was in her favour. She was however
slowing down to stop before the impact. We have had a few such incidents in the recent past and hear no more about it after
the so called "investigations". PRASA (Passenger rail agency of South Africa ) who is responsible for the upkeep of the lines and the
signalling system is in the news at the moment for all the wrong reasons from management to aquisitions.
Do hope that this latest incident is a wake up call to the powers that be.
