Your best bet to find parts for a Re 800/RET 800/3014 is to check with one of the following:

APC-Adams (APC Miniaturmodell)
http://www.buco-hag-maer...e.ch/82/maerklin-spur-h0
or check for "(Re 800, RET 800, 3014) Maerklin" on ebay.de
You can also check with Swiss shops like Renfer www.Morep.ch

I am sure that Jacques Vuyes or Stefan Unholz might be able to provide the diameter of the screw so that you can locate a generic replacement.
The part for a 3014/RET 800 was 75600.
http://www.ebay.de/sch/i...rklin+75600&_sacat=0
Here's one in the USA: http://www.ebay.com/itm/...ew-for-H0-/251263772146?
You can check with the Eckerts, they will confirm if it is the right one.

If this description refers to the single screw situated in the middle of the roof top, then Mike seems to have found the right one. Measurements are M 2,5 x 7,3 mm (no idea what this amounts to in the non-metric world, but this here might help: http://www.laptopscrews.com/metric_conversion.htm ).

Hi,

The spare-part-sheet (September 1955) says that the screw is M2*12 DIN 84 St. ("St" means Steel).

If anybody has a RE 800 and RET 800/3014, can you confirm that the top screws are one and the same type?

Thanks

Hello Everyone;
The RET or RES 800 ( with only the two center axles powered) had the same roof center placed screw holding the body on the chassis, not sure if it's M2 x 12 mm...I'd be tempted to agree with Stefan and describe it as M2.5.
If needed I can still check if it is the same for both, but I'm willing to bet it is.
It is a contersunk head type, and better used in a nickeled finish
But any finish type will do , just touch up spraying some silver paint on the head before mounting it.

The RE 800 ( with all 4 axles driven) was a totally different animal (event though superficially resembles the RET and RES) .
The body is attached by two longer screws accessible from the bottom in a recess of the chassis.

I cannot verify the exact dimensions (I am out of town right now) but if you need the exact dimensions for the RE, I'll check as soon as I get home next week.

Remember to remove all headlights before installing the body on the chassis, and remount them afterwards.

Cheers

I'll look up the parts manuals I have and see if I can scan the relevant pages. There is also a page giving the screw details for the screw part numbers.

Yes Alan is correct the screws mount from underneth on each side of the motor. I looked at some of the invoices .Most are from 1952 and 53 so i suspect grandfather visited Goppingen in 1949 or 1950 .Lots of prices from that era ie ST 800 ENGINE BLUE $125.00. Vanhoosear
